when you put the files onto your phone from your computer it needs to go exactly to the folder called 'my music'. Might depend on your device but on my device in the amazon music app on my phone i go to settings, and select import settings turned on. Each successive update seems to break something new or remove previously working features that were very helpful or even completely necessary. But it is certainly one more sign that Amazon cannot manage this application properly.Īmazon music has some of the worst app management I have ever run into.

(Even Google started backing off their own 'music locker' service, first 'replacing' high quality uploads like lossless FLACs with their own inferior 320kbps mp3 cookies from their on demand library - inferior even for 320s - and then curtailing the program, making it far less convenient, and wrapping it in the greatly unloved YouTube music user interface.)īUT Amazon does allow the user to access his own local files by pointing the app to the appropriate directory or directories on your desktop computers' hard drive (at least in Windows).Īnd the Android app for Amazon appears to offer a parallel feature: SETTINGS/OTHER/IMPORT SETTINGS/Automatically import music folder content to my library.
